I am new to this forum and have a serious question regarding my 2001 Ranger. It is a 6 cylinder 4 wheel drive automatic. the transmission feels like it is slipping into gear when entering the highway, when I accaelerate quickly the trans. bangs a little into gear. My garage flushed the trans. last week, and I noticed the tach started working again. The tack problem and the noise started at the same time. It worked great for 4 days. I was on the highway and all of a sudden the tach stopped and the trans. noise came back. Then the OD light started flashing. Had to stop the truck and retart it. worked for a little while. I took it back to my garage and they checked for codes. I believe he said it was a 750 code stored in the memory. He said it will require a complete rebuild for the trans. If this is the case I will get rid of it, looking for an impartial opinion. Anybody have this experience?

The P0750 code is a electrical code for the shift solenoid "A" or its circuit. Find somebody else to look at it.

Possible causes are poor connections, failed shift solenoid "A" or the PCM.

Thanks, that was my feeling also.
