I have a 96 explorer. I recently got a O/D blinking light code came back shift selonoid . I unhooked the negative to battery replaced selonoid. Drove for a week light started blinking again. Do you think it's because I just unhooked the negative and didn't have the code cleared. What are any thoughts.

I think the computer has seen a problem with the transmission and is setting a trouble code, the best thing to do at this point is to have the codes read by someone with a scan tool. This code or codes will help you identify what the problem with the transmission.

Great thank you so much for your reply I will definitely give that a shot . If it's the same code do you think it's stored in the computer?

Yes the code should still be in the computer's memory even if the light is not on.

If you are using a code reader they can send you in the wrong direction. You need to have the transmission codes read with a scan tool with software to meet OEM standards. Seen code readers give completely wrong info. You also won't get good information from the "free scan" parts dealers. Find a reputable transmission repair shop. May charge you but a lot better than taking the shotgun approach at changing parts.
