My son has a 96 explorer it has transmission fluid leaking and a oil leak. I think the transmission leak was coming because of the bolts holding the pan were all loose. I tighten them but not sure yet if that will fix the problem. The oil leak looks as though it is coming from the crankshaft pulley. I think that is what it is called. How much does anyone think it will cost to get it fixed. He has one year of college left so I am trying to decide if it is worth fixing. I already need to fix both windows and replace the fuel pump. The car would not crank one day, it was not getting fuel I was told to hit on the gas tank and it would crank up if it was a bad fuel pump. It worked and the car has run fine every day since then but hey I hate to send a kid off in it to college. The car has 203000 miles on it. I guess what I am asking is what do you think it would cost to fix the oil leak and what are the odds that tightening the bolts fixed the transmission leak.
