I've been reading and reading posts, so forgive me if this issue was somewhere and I didn't see it.
I have a 1998 EB Ford Explorer. V8 automatic. The other day coming home I stopped at a stop sign, but when I went to go forward, it hesitated to move, but finally did and I made it home, the entire 8 miles. The next evening I drove it into town to the gas station, (it drove fine) but when I went to back up, it did, but trying to go forward in drive it wouldn't move, either direction now. So I had to be pushed out of the way and towed home. It has sat in my driveway for 8 days without touching it, then yesterday I started it up, checked the tranny fluid and it was okay, then I proceeded to get inside and see if it would move. It did move, I got to turn it around facing my house, but when I went to go further, it wouldn't move in drive or reverse, there it sits in he middle of the driveway. I know I need to take it in to Kent City Ford, but I'm a little hesitant, because I don't want to have to replace the entire transmission. Has anyone else had a problem like this and it was an easy fix?
Both of my mechanics are in heaven, I'm a widow now and can't afford to pay an arm and leg for this. Please help with suggestions.
