Transmission problems (intermediate band broke).

Bought a new to me explorer with shift problems no second gear. Changed fluid today and found two metal parts.I guess a band broke my question is can the intermediate band be replace without removing tranny?

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the transmission section. You have to go very deep into the transmission in order to replace the intermediate band. You should rebuild it if you are going this far into it.
