Transmission Problems

My 05 sport trac 4x4 jerks hard when i put it in R or D. Im wondering if someone could tell me where i find wat kind of transmission is in it or is interchangeable with it? Shop said $2000 to replace and cant afford that much. Please help me.

The Sporty has a 5R55E automatic transmission. From what I understand, there are no other automatics that are compatible with it. However, if you are mechanically inclined you may be able to swap in a manual transmission. Personally I would rather upgrade to a v8 engine with the 4r70w transmission.
