:salute:thanks, ive done some major search on the website, youre right, so i need the whole obd2 setup?, computer & wiring harness, correct? how abot under the hood ? would i be able to use what i got on the engine? sensors etc? r they compatible? 91 4.0 obd1 to the harness on a 95 with obd2? by the way thanks a bunch!!!

You would have to see if the sensors are the same. The engine harness on the later models fires the fuel injectors separately, so you have to see if the newer one has all of the same color coded wires going to the injectors or different colors.

time to start pulling diagrams

Hello everybody!! thanks for that input, little by little is all coming back to me,10 yrs ago i did a 3.0 to 4.0 swap, with the harness and all, its been a while but ill get to it asap, the local upullits have plenty of donors, i could always go back and get a a4ld but this a4lde is a factory rebuild and only 5k on it, its amazing the amount of explorers that can be found at junkyards in polk county, florida, all bad trannys !!!:salute: god bless

anybody could use an a4ldE? WITH A BIG E AT THE END,theyre giving me an a4lde instead and i might keep the a4lde

the converter on the a4ld

is it normal for the back of the converter to rub against the bellhousing when i turn it by hand? im hoping when i put the nuts in the flywheel it will draw the converter back enogh, it barely rubs but i dont remember this happening before but then again ford is one of the few that the converters have studs on the instead of welded nuts, is this a matter of starting my prayers early? im dropping this tranny in this weekend, god bless:salute:

hello everyone, well i returned the a4lde and was given another a4ld that ran good for 2 days and now i slapped a 2wd tranny that is definetely good, now i will tear down the 4x4 tranny and keep the 4x4 outputshaft and tailhousing extension, now if i install this on the 2wd can i just put everything back with the old gaskets? i would hate to ruin the good tranny that i got now and want it to last,by the way i got to the point that it takes 2 hrs only to drop this tranny, god bless
