Recently since it's been getting cold I've noticed that after a cold start and driving if I hit the brake a little hard to stop, the transmission will start to surge and take off so I have to release the brake a little to keep the vehicle from shutting down.

It currently has 109k miles and we just got the trans flushed a few weeks ago. Could it be a clogged fuel filter, plugs?

After a while when it's warmed up there are no issues.

what do you mean by "transmission start to surge"? are you referring to the RPM? might be time to clean up your IAC or check your transmission fluid if it's low (when it's warm fluid expands)
