Hey all. I have a 2000 Explorer XLS 4X4 with a 4.0L OHV. I'm having the same shifting problems most people have between 2nd and 3rd gears. I've read the threads on the VB replacement/rebuild as well as replacing the EPC solenoid. My question is this... my buddy has a 2000 explorer with a V8 that's wrecked and has offered me the tranny out of it. Will it work in my Explorer?
Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the transmission section. This is not an easy conversion. You will need a different wiring harness, computer, driveshaft, adapters for the bell housing, and possibly other things.
Thanks for the swift reply BB. I kind of thought so but wanted to ask an expert. Where is a reliable source to purchase the VB replacement and ECP solenoid?
