I'm trying to eliminate potential issues. I have a 2007, 4x4, V6, with the 5R55 (not sure the letter that follows) transmission. I'm currently in limp mode, with a boat load of electrical (solenoid, voltage, etc) codes. I have read to check the wiring harness where it meets the firewall. I don't really know where to look. I have tried tracing the wires, but I can't seem to stick my hand in there far enough. The wires at the passenger side look good. Initial inspection on the top side of the transmission seem clean. What am I missing? Or have I inspected them, and just don't have issues? I can post photos of where I have looked if that is easier.

I've got a 2007, 4.0, 4x4, V6 with a 5r55s. AFTER i had the transmission rebuilt at 140K miles (i had no reverse), the transmission was acting up again at about 160K. I had no 3rd/4th gear. Codes indicated a faulty solenoid. I got a new transmission control solenoid and the transmission guy installed it.

I can't recall my transmission running any better. I'd say check the solenoid.
