transmission/x-fer case swapping info. needed

I picked up a '93 2 door 2wd Xploder super cheap and am considering converting it to a 4x4 with the front end parts left over from my '91 Xploder SAS. The '93 has an automatic transmission. Is the 2wd auto trans. and the 4x4 auto trans. the same? Is it possible to remove the tail housing off the 2wd auto. transmission and connect it to a transfer case or will I need the 4wd auto transmission.

i believe it has a removable tail housig but youll need the output shaft.

If that's the case, I'd be waaay better off just swapping in a 4wd automatic transmission.

It would seem so make more sense that way....is the x-fer case manual or electric????this could be an issue....either way go manual...

OMG no way, total coincidence. SO DID I! I got basically the same thing (93 2wd, and they call the 2 door the sport just so you know.) except that mine has a manual transmission.
