trans. and xfer case fluids?

I have a '91 XLT 4x4 with a 5 spd. What type of fluid does the transmission and transfer case use? Also, I noticed shifting the transmission has a "notchy" feel to it after it warms up. The transmission level was correct but it looked black.

BTW, where is the drain plug for the transfer case? Unless it's hidden by the skid plate, I can't find it.

both the manual trans and the t-case take ATF and you have to take the skid plate off to get to the drain plug on the t-case Hope this helps.
