I have the M5OD and i have trouble getting into first (not all the time but some and ONLY when i come to a full stop) no other gear is a problem but as i said the 1st gear problem only comes when i stop at a light or something. Any ideas?

I would say that you have a problem with your clutch not disengaging enough, manual 'sploders have a hydraulic clutch, sooo... check it for leaks and bleed the system, and hope someone that has had this problem will pipe up and tell you what they did...

I have had this problem with my mustang and it normally means I have to buy yet another new clutch cable.

I have an auto in my 'sploder.

Good luck.

99% chance it's the slave cylinder/throwout bearing. Do a search here, and you'll see it's a very common problem with that trans.

It gets progressively worse over time, getting harder to put in other gears.

ok how hard is it to swap a slave cylinder? Is there a guide on this site? I want to do that on my own if it is not to hard and if it doesnt need any special tools. Thanks everyone =]

Edit: and oh yea how much will the slave cost me and where can i get it (i dont want to order over the web if posible. would napa have it? or would i have to go to my ford dealership (OVERPRICED!!!) to buy the slave. no online cause i dont got a card yet. =P

also how much will it cost for a shop to do it
