Well here is the situation, I have a 93 explorer xlt 4.0. The ac doesn't work. Can anyone tell me were to start. I heard I might need to replace the compressor, orifice tube, drier, and condenser. Do i just get all these part and go at it? If you have any suggestion please help, even if it has already been talked about please send me a thread to go to. Thanks

Welcome to this forum! Check the fuse first, the relay second, the low pressure cut off cycling switch, and the compressor clutch coil. The low pressure cycling switch is a safety for the compressor to disengage it if there is insufficient pressure in the system. Jump it to see if the compressor turns on. If so, then you will have to recharge the system with freon. Use a manifold test gauge set.

Thanks, i checked the fuses and the relay both seem to be ok. I tried adding freon to the system and i notice that the pressure kept dropping. I think i might have a leak now! Great. I got a leak detector kit should i use it?

does any one have a step by step way to take apart the system, flush it and then recharge it?

ok i fond something, right behind the ac compressor on the manifold is a short little shaft that is leaking, does anybody know what that piece is and why it might be leaking? can i replace it?
