Search for Yomie. He did a D30 swap on his 95+. It'll be fine for a 33in tire but beyond that, you'll blow'er up. It is a vacuum locked axle and as for that, I couldn't tell you on the kits, but being as common as it is, I'd assume you'd find kits out there.
If you're stock now, I'd still watch for the D44. Why? No reason to do it twice, and they're already setup for the radius arm setup. The D30 will require a leaf swap or adding the mounts for the R/A's. Either way, there are a ton of parts available for both of them.
