My '99 Sport has the full Tupperware treatment including the nerf bars. My idea is to remove all the Tupperware and the bars and put on some chrome XLT type bumpers. I'm trying to get it looking like a 2dr XLT because I like some chrome on my vehicle. I'm not sure of the year, but I like the XLT bumper with the oblong shaped foglights. If anyone would like to get this Tupperware in trade for their XLT chrome bumpers (W/foglights), let me know and maybe we can work something out...Thanks...

If you remove your tupperware or fender flares, there will be holes exposed in the fenders. These will have to be filled and repainted.

Yeah, but that's ok...does anyone know if the front bumper from a new Ranger XLT will bolt on my Sport?

Are you looking for a bumper like this? These were on 95-98 Explorers,

Yep, that's what I'm looking...do you have a pic of a rear bumper?

Here: it's a 98. It looks just like yours, except it is CHROME and the trim is painted. They are on 98-00 Ex's.

Was the trim on the back bumper painted by the owner or was it factory painted? I'd prefer the black plastic myself...thanks for the pics...

Factory, the plastic is unpainted, but some choose to paint it for a "modified" look, and to go with the rest of X24's trim scheme.

That was X24's EX in the second pic.

If the Sport gray plastic-covered bumpers will fit on a 4-dr XLT, I've got the chrome XLT bumpers that you want, and you've got the gray plastic-covered bumpers that I want...

Your sport is a '99, so round foglights, right?

I've got a '99 XLT, all stock...

As far as I know they'll fit. Does yours have foglights? Mine are round...

Mine has foglights, however, crud.

I just re-read your post, and you're looking for an older style front bumper?

Mine looks like this one:

Any way we could still work out a trade?

Is that your Explorer? What do you mean the lights are crud? Is the black part of the bumper unpainted? If we were to work out a trade, do you also want the fender flares? I also like that chrome grill surround...

I might be interested in buying the tupperware off of you if you ever decide to do this...let me know.

Not my Explorer - I just didn't have a decent picture. Imagine that Explorer in green, and you have mine.

Nah, nothing on my Explorer is crud. I meant "Crud, you wanted an older-style bumper, not the newer style bumper!"

I'm actually looking to replace my front and rear bumper, because I don't like chrome.

I don't think your rear fender flares would fit on my Explorer, since it's a 4-door. Torrie at FPN can get me new 4-door flares.

I'm looking to make my '99 XLT look like the fully-optioned '00 XLS - the gray bumpers, the fender flares, the nerf bars, etc.

As far as the chrome grille surround - I'm looking for a green one, myself, so that will be up for grabs, if you're interested.

If you want to swap bumpers, let me know - we can work out the details of how to go about trading them. If you were to ship me yours, I could get them swapped ASAP, and ship out mine right back to you.

Your foglights all work, correct?

Anyone else around reading this? Just want to make sure that there's no mounting or wiring differences (or light differences) between the Sport and the XLT.

You could both use your own fog light housings. They are removed with two bolts and one screw into the bumper cover. That way, you would only be swapping bumpers. I have pulled mine off numerous times, and it is a lot easier if you have the bumper off.

Less weight for shipping??? :D

Sounds good...

The foglight housing isn't the chrome "insert", is it?

Possible uh-oh, here...

Sport 4x4: Is your front bumper the same as mine, only minus the chrome?

I'm looking at some pictures here that look as if it's got an older style bumper on it.

If you plan on going wheeling with your truck, I would remove the lower valance with the fog lights.. They'll eventually get in the way.. It only took me a few trips to crack them near the passenger fog light.. Not to mention it messes up your approach on some obstacles.

Nope, they are separate.

The whole bumper is one peice. You can't remove the lower valence like on 95-98's.
