Well I just found some tupperware for my X. Problem is, my X is black, and tupperware is red. I dont have access to a paint gun, nor have ever used one. Has anyone ever CAN Spray painted their rocker panel "tupperware"? Pics?
Should I sand the original paint off first?

yes Sand it down first than spray a primer and than liek a gloss black, or what ever black your truck is... Buy the GOOD paint NOT the cheap stuff.........

This prolly will not be as good as gettign a pro to do it but it will be cheaper..........

PEACE

Thanks! I just hope it dont look horrid.
What should I sand it with? (I know, dumb question.)

sand paper..lol search for "hydroxy" he painted his bumper's using rattle can paint's

sand it with some 320 grit
clean it with some tar, wax grease remover.
Let it sit for ten to fifteen mineuts.
Spray it on several thin coats and let it build.
take your time between coats.
Ten mineuts would be fine.

Yea I did use rattle cans... I coulda gotten a paint gun & paint for almost the same price. I would then just have to borrow someone's compressor. And to think someone offered my dad a free compressor buthe said he would wait to ask me if I wanted it... meanwhile the guy gave it to someone else.... grrrrrrrr.

Just do LIGHT coats and take your time... a small run in the paint and it can ruin everything. Also, not to clash w/ MONMIX, but 220 grit did almost nothing to the tupperware on my rear bumper. I ended up just not sanding it smooth... try something around 100 or so to start off with if you want it smooth.

One thing about painting the lower portion of any vehicle is that the paint imperfection does not show as much as say the quarter panel or hood. I guess it has something to do with the angle of which you look at it. Painting it yourself cost next to nothing. Its worth a try. If you're not happy with it sand it down again and bring it back to the shop to get it painted. If nothing else you gain experience from it.
