Turn Signal Problem

I have a 1992 Explorer and my driver side turn signal can;t make up its mind when it wants to work. Sometimes the park light won't come on and the turn signal will work and other times neither will work (lkie today)......I have tried new bulbs.........is there a certain way to put the bulb in? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

It sounds like bad connections and yes the bulb must go in the right way. I believe that they are twin fillament bulbs one for park and one for turn signal. Could be a bad earth wire trace the black wire to the chassis and clean the connection. Is it the front only or back and front that don't work sometimes? could also be the stalk switch. You could test the bulbs with a jumper wire. Hope this helps.
