Hello!! I searched these forums for an answer, and I THINK I may know, but just want to make sure. I am a VERY novice car girl, but am a quick learner ;)

We just picked up a 92 - it runs awesome, but the turn signals are weird - they'll flash once, then stop. Will replacing the flasher relay fix this, or does it sound like a multifunction switch problem...? Or am I not providing enough info?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I'm assuming the problem occurs for either left or right turn signals. The first thing I would do is see if your emergency signals work, or if that simply replicates the problem, i.e. both left and right signals flash once, and then stop. If that happens, go ahead and replace the flasher relay and see if that doesn't fix it.

I would also take a look at all the bulbs in the turn signals, as well as the sockets. If they're all good, and a new flasher relay doesn't fix the problem, my last option would be a new multi-function switch.:us:

Thank you!!! So, I've 'heard' that the flasher relay is easy to change, it's just right behind the battery...? If I can find a book here in town, I'll get one, but I really need to get this fixed ASAP.

BTW, we replaced all of the bulbs, so I know that's not the problem...

I don't remember seeing a relay behind the battery for a flasher.. PCM, Fuel Pump etc.. yes.. but not for the turn signal flasher...

The flasher itself is under the dash.. its in the fuse box under the dash, by your left knee..

This is assuming a 1992-1994 X.

Okay, perfect. It's a 92, so once I get the replacement part, I'll just look for a similar part to replace it with...LOL

Thank you all so much for your help, it is truly appreciated!
