Anyone have pics of different places they've put their tweets? I'm just trying to figure out my options. Thanks.

Mine are mounted about ear level on the A piller, Works great for me.

They are mounted where the side widow defroster vents used to be. They are both aimed straight up at the window and and reflect off of that

Doesn't that overheat from when you select defrost? Where did you run the wire- through the tunnel itself?

Another member did it this way so I used the idea when I put mine in. Has worked well so far.

nonameputs, recognize you from CAF. Wutzup!

I recently did some research on sounddomain.

Here are my favs:

Expo 1

Expo 2

My install will be complete next week. :D

Mine are like AnabolicFrolic's but under the stock vent.
I just stopped up the vent with polyfill to keep forced air off of the tweeter.
Sounds great. I used to run kick panels and hated the imaging. My tree trunk legs were the problem.

Well how's it going? I didn't know that you had an X, cool. I can't wait to see you system. Lots of pics;) I've seen the pics of the second X and really like that spot, but mine is a '97 and the door pannel is a different shape and there is no way a tweet would go there.

terdrocket, that's what I thought would be a problem with kicks in an X, especially on the passenger side because of the steering wheel. How is the imaging with them up on the dash, and where exactly are they aimed?

Yah I got a 2000 EB, 5.0 AWD, I love it. Cant wait to get this system going. So sick of the Blose!!!!

Borrowing from the pics that bilbo99 posted...

Here's pretty much what mine looks like. I figured later on it would be easier to replace the vinyl instead of the plastic if I were ever to try to sell the truck without the tweeters

But in my dad's '98 Mounty, we mounted like this pic... Same difficulty, I think mounting them on the vinyl leads to a cleaner install though since the plastic is not perfectly flat.

Hokie-

Which one has better imaging?

I think that I might try the position in the doors in the vinyl. My girlfriend's mom has a Jeep Cherokee with dash mounted tweets and I didn't really like the imaging from that, but I'll give them all a try. Any more?

Well, his surfaced mounted Infinity's don't have any movement whereas my Alpines allow me to swivel the tweeter some. But thats based off of the tweeter design, not the mounting point. If you look at the 2 pics, there is only 1" difference in mounting positions so the imaging will be pretty much the same

I have my driver's side one on the door above the mirror control and the pass side right where the mirror switch was on the driver's side. I'll try to get pics tomorrow!

They're at slightly different angles so it caters more to the driver than the center of the vehicle, which I like better. If I could put some delay on the driver's side one, then it'd be perfect.

Have mine in the kick panels also. I ordered them about two years ago, and only paid @$170 or so

Here they are!

Hey, don't mean to steal the thread, but if anyone knows where I can get some grilles for those tweeters that would be awesome! Let me know if you do, thanks.
