Driving into work this morning my clutch was slipping as I gave it gas to go up hills. I babied it really good but everytime I hit the gas hard it would slip.

Now I am not a tranny person but always willing to try a repair myself. I had the clutch replaced 2 yrs ago and then I had a rebuilt tranny installed in February. I was told the clutch was good but the flexplate or was it the flywheel would only last me 6 more months.

So here I am now. My clutch pedal was releasing like 1"- 1/2" from the top and someone said maybe just the slave cylinder.

Here is my question can I get a new slave cylinder I seem to recall that the slave cylinder had to somehow match the clutch.

If not then I will want to install the best HD clutch I can get. So what is the best clutch.

I'd replace everything if i was you. If the transmission is slipping going up hill it's definantly not the slave cylinder it's the clutch and pressure plate. If you've had the fly wheel resurfaced before I'd reccommend getting a new one, you can only have them cut so many times. And if you're clutch has been slipping I bet the flywheel is pretty well glazed over. I put a Luk pro gold series clutch in my truck and it has been doing well. I got a complete package with clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing and slave cylinder for ~280 from thier website www.dialaclutch.com You could always get a Centerforce dual friction clutch which will have more holding power but the clutch and pressure plate is about 300 by themselves. You can probably do the clutch yourself, I did mine in a day and you don't need any special tools. Get your hands on a chiltons manual, they help alot.

Thanks Doug that was the info I needed. I need to get it done this weekend. So waiting for parts to arrive won't work. Dang I better get busy.
