Went to rent a car dolly to be pulled by my 1992 explorer, only to be told that no U hual products are authorized to be pulled by an explorer. has any one else been denied this?

The thing that gets me is I can rent with my Mountaineers with no issue. It is the same truck from a muchanical standpoint! I just don't get this one. Uhaul must be run by some serious pin heads.

I'm right there with ya...

I got denied 13-months ago. I had already bought a snowmobile and needed to go pick it up, then found out I couldn't rent the d**n trailer. I wound up buying a landscape trailer which has been good but I probably wouldn;t have done that if U-Haul didn't make such an arrogant decision. The guy then sold the sled to someone else while I was arranging transport (which is another rather ugly story). We're all a bit too cought up in mitigating risk and avoiding liability than in thinking logically I'm afraid, and its only going to get much, much worse.

Say yours is a Mazda Navajo. That'll work.

This may seem like a dumb question.

I understand that the U-Haul issue is causing issues with many X owners who want/need the convenience of a utility trailer or dolly, so some have resorted to diisguise, or simply telling the rental agent that the vehicle is a Mountie or Navajo. Don't the rental agents check the vehicle registration? They do here in New York.

Another rental place needs to come out saying they rent to all vehicles. Just think how much money they'd make. U-Haul would be kicking themselves.
