okay, okay...so I'm sure other people have seen my post on door handle illuminating LED's and EMS lights and such...anyways Yes I am a light freak and I have thought of another idea....
How about under body lights, that are tucked under the body near the door that turn on when you open the door to illuminate the ground.
My Ex doesn't have running boards so I could easily tuck them below the door under the body.
I was thinking I could tap into the dome light circuit so the underbody lights have that cool fade out effect like the dome light does when it turns off.

Let me know what you think,

Dude Ive thougt of doing the same thing.
The only hurdle I see is waterproofing the system and thats why I havent attempted it.
And wiring to the dome lights so they dim would be a neat effect.

I don't think that they would dim, as you'd only use the interior lights to trigger the relay that would turn on the outside lights, unless there's someone here with more knowledge that could put a diagram together as how to wire them so that they dim...

I think you're right.
You would need to wire in a capacitor (is that how you spell it? looks funny to me) that holds the power, and once turned off, would drain and cause the dimming effect.

You sir are correct.

As far as waterproofing, just make sure you get lights and wiring rated for exterior use.

I've been thinking about doing a streetglow project since I got my mounty. Maybe I'll try it this summer.
