How much is too much. Lots of surface rust on most everything. Interestingly the actually body of the truck, including the floorboards have no rust. Really just the frame and everything else attached to it. I have sanded a bunch of it off and sprayed it with rust reformer. Otherwise it seems very solid. It is a 1998 XLT 5.0L that I inherited and it spent most of it's life up in northern Idaho where they use salt on the roads. Has 185K miles but was a one owner with all dealer services done. Have done the Shocks, brakes, Tires, spark plugs, Belt and all other maintenance items as they were all way overdue. Just need a Home Depot hauler for occasional lumber runs. Interior and most of exterior are pretty much perfect. No leaks and AC blows cold so no complaints other than this is my first car with rust so it is a bear to do anything. Had to cut most of the shock bolts off with a grinder.
