unknown wiring harnes

I took apart my dash today to put in white faces when i noticed a wiring harnes that pluged in to the back of the pannel that goes over the stearing wheel. The harnes pluged in to a emply clip on the right side of the pannel all most next to the lighter. Any one knows what this does?

I was in my dash a few weeks ago putting in my tranny temp guage and I saw that exact plug.
I also have no clue what it is or what it could be.
It has no power going to it.

i found it too in my 00 mounty

but my 98 limited did have a switch that he wire harness plugged into, it controled the normal ride to off road mode, which activated a air lift system that lifted the truck a few inches....im sure the wiringharness also could controll 2wd to 4wd switch
