Alright here we go,
a few quick fire questions the money I need to start my project is coming. here is the problem I have an understanding of what I want todo the steps in between are escaping me. I have a 1998 XLT AWD 5.0L
Options
1. Rebuild my existing motor ( not sure if a 331 stroker kit or not also all the balnincing issues) I want more HP but 15-18 MPG is killing me thinking about using a programmer to help with that power when I want it economy for the boring stuff.
2. By a motor thinking about these guys I'am in californian Coleville so anywhere more reputable or closer would be great http://www.cmengines.com
further questions concerns my freind and I are thinking about doing this we can get the tools and we have the basic know-how also I have a "ford expert a block away" but its more break glass in case of ahhh F***
so I buy a motor and I want to keep it fuel injetcted as long as I have a EFI intake which my exisiting one should work and all my other sensors and computer should have no to little problems bolting on I understand that the oil dipstick and fill caps my turn up a little different or would they
Also I plan on putting on a COld Air intake and torque monster headers )most people seem to say there worth the money any one have a good place to purchase the remainder of teh exhaust system.
Now thats that been thrown out anyone running similar set ups or have done this, have had anyproblems with stuff not working wiring I'am trying to get this right as close as I can the first time I buy this stuff, yeah I know crap happens and you forget stuff
Transmission can any one recommend a good place to either have them rebuilt to hadle the extra tourqe or a new one all togethr as I said probally start purchasing around mid month any help or if any one in Reno Nv or norther california knows a good shop that can do this type of work let me know thank you for the help
