upper console themometer gage not working

i have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. Theres a upper console where the interior lights and switch for sunroof. There's also a themometer gage (you know tell outside temp and direction), but mine doesn't work. Nothing even lights up. can someone help me diagnos.
