URGENT: Tranny cooler lines

Well, now that I know that I could have saved $5, then yeah the Summit kit should be fine. Both kits seem to use the same mount, and it really doesn't matter which kit after the first filter change since the filter itself will determine how well the system works, not the name on the box.

I went with the Summit kit over the B&M kit only because it came with hose, not knowing that I would need to get more hose anyway because of the filter location.

BTW when I ordered the kit, Summit gave me a $10 gift certificate so I went ahead and ordered a steering column pod and an Autometer trans gauge. I like ordering from Summit because if I order parts early in the morning I get them next day because their warehouse is so close. :D

Well after a 20 second drive around the block, the filter is slightly warm so I guess everything is working properly.

Yaaaaaaaaay

The Perma-cool kit I got was just less than $100.00 ( if I recall ) came with more than enough hose and a guage.

I have issues with store brand name products.
But that is for another time

why would you need an external tranny filter? do you remove the internal one and use the external one?

The interior one is nothing more than a screen type material that you would find in a window screen. The external gets all the small particles and shavings.

I'm paranoid about whether I installed this right, but I'm sure I did. When driving around for 10 minues, the top tranny line is hot and the bottom line is not, so this tells me that the top line HAS to be the "in" line.

ok i got a dumb question...i did a tranny temp gauge recently, i used the rubber lines on bottom side, pass side. i tapped into the furthest line on pass side, however they way i did it is makng me beleve i tapped into the return line (cooled fluid) are both lines on the bottom return lines? it does'nt really make sense for them BOTH to be cooled fluid return...i am tempted to switch my setup to the left most line on the bottom(see my cardomain page for my install pics, link is in signature) but heres how i did the lines... let me know what you think

I would think that the trans temp gauge would read a temperature that's really cold if you tapped into the return line. The instructions that came with mine said to warm the engine up and feel each one, the hottest one being the supply line because the fluid is has not gotten to the radiator yet.

uhh yeah, i did not do it on purpose...LOL i just figured i had a 50/50 chance...never did one of these before...but looking at that pic is the line to the left the send line? traced them back they are only 2 that go to/from trans...unless i missed one thats the return line...just looking for confirmation on my guessing
