Tranny cooler lines

I have Goodyear fuel injection lines connecting the 2 metal cooler lines (I had to cut them.) Theyre held on with regular hose clamps. In the past 2 days I've had the hoses split and blow off 3 times, but they werent the right hose. Now I'm leary as far as driving this truck goes...I dont want the lines to screw off again and leave me stranded...again.

Should I trust these hoses or am I insane?

use transmission hoses the other one will keep doing the same thing make sure you have the right diameter hose as well you may be using to large or to small should be a snug fit then tighten clamps
 






Well the hose is 3/8" which slid onto the metal hose. Also this hose is rated for 900psi(burst) so...

The only problem was that I didn't know until after I had them connected that I should have flared the lines so the clamps would bite. I don't want to take the hoses off and waste another 6 liters of fluid... I've spent $70 on hoses and fluid, and one funnel, already this week.
 






There are 2 sizes of power steering, and transmission line hoses, 5/16", and 3/8". There is a company called "Ideal" that makes clamps that don't tear up the hoses. They are basically a smooth band without openings, and is tightened by a bolt, and a nut. This applies even pressure all around. It's also called a fuel injection hose clamp. The hose should be very snug when it is pushed onto the lines. If it fit on too easily, then it was probably the wrong inner diameter hose. By the way, one easy way to tell if the hose is a heavy duty type is to check its thickness, and see if it has braided strings in between layers of rubber. You could also use stainless steel hoses if you want something better, like the ones that are used to connect a faucet. The regular ones are adequate just as long as they are made for transmissions. The stainless steel hoses that I just mentioned are technically designed for low pressure water, but should be able to work.
 






trans cooler hose of any sort will work alot better if you use a simple flare tool and flare the end of the metal line.

Also you can double clamp.

I have never had a hose issue and my cooler system is hose from the trans forward.
