So it has been a while since anyone has posted about USB modems. Has anyone gotten this feature to work with anything besides the 3G only mercury stick from AT&T?

I am really hoping the update that is coming up will include compatibility for my Sierra wireless 250u on Clear's network. I'm a tech geek (one of the reasons I bought the explorer w mft) and I really want my car to be a built in hidden wifi network that turns on every time the car turns inn! Lol

Hey, nitzer51!

Here are the ones that we've tested here and worked:

Mercury > USBConnect Mercury > GSM > AT&T
Sierra Wireless > Aircard 250 U > CDMA > Sprint > SYNC supports CDMA only on this device.
Sierra Wireless > USB 598 > CDMA > Sprint
Sierra Wireless > USB 308 > GSM > None Specified

A couple of those they don't even make anymore.

Sure hope there has been testing with some of the 4G LTE devices or my iPhone5 hotspot will be the only HUB in the Ex.

I tried the SW USB 308 GSM without success.

There are a few good older threads on this subject if you use the search field

Yea I've read most of those..

So the air card 250 u is the same modem that I have. I wonder if it is difference in the software to run it bc mft won't recognize the 250u with clear... Sad panda
