As long as he's learned a little respect by now, and has a parent along, I think that's okay.

Well it looks like I might actually get my dad maybe to possibly say yes! Just a couple more questions if you guys don't mind: Does anyone have an address that I can put into Mapquest to find the exact route/time/distance? And also, for Saturday night: is it camping or hotel? Thanks!

well diablo your dad may not be alone, he says he wont lemme go by myself (not yet atleast) but heres the address
Uwharrie National Forest
U.S. Dept. of Agriculture
Forest Service
789 NC Hwy 24/27 East
Troy, NC 27371-9332

EDIT: my grandparents MAY be in town that weeked so i may only be able to go for one day, if that!

Cool, thanks for the address. According to Mapquest, it'll take me 5 hours and 59 minutes to go 305.51 miles. Oh well, it should be cool.

And also, that'd be great if my dad had someone his own age to hang out with while we're there. This whole weekend is starting to seem better and better

It won't take you that long if you don't make a bunch of pitstops. I made a 400 mile trip to Paragon in a little under 6 hours. :)

No pitstops are intended. But also I have to go the speed limit all the way. Partially, this trip is to prove that I am mature enough to do long distance driving, it'd defeat the purpose to speed all the way up :D

diablo, how old are you? just wondering

yeah, i wont be able to make this one, not sure if mine could get all the way up there anyway.

I'm 17. But, for the record, my dad would be with me, so I'll have a representative who is over 18 years old

Good idea. I got a ticket for 79 in a 65 during that trip. :( I now follow the limit pretty closely.

oh haha, well thats ok im 15. i CAN legally drive till 8pm alone. yes, if i could tell how fast i was going in the explorer, i would go about 7 mph over. but i cant tell... speedo is too messed up.

Oh, OK, good. I'm not the only one :D

ha. you think your speedo's off. my speedometer said 70mph, and i was clocked going 83mph. tell me how messed up that is! heh heh

Cool, Blue Steel found the thread. Does that mean you're coming on the trail ride?

hey. are you guys planning on having the run friday, saturday, or sunday? unfortunately i promised that i would be a musician for a church thing, and of course, with my luck, they decided to have the thing happen on may 11th  i would be able to be there saturday night possibly? definatly sunday. friday i'm not sure about because from what i've been told i have to be at the place at 8am. da! i'm bummed now. was looking forward to the trip. anyways, let me know what everyone is planning. i might be able to hang out at least sunday or something. later all

I will be done there scouting it out by myself on friday, and then running the trails all day saturday. I am leaving saturday night because I have to work on the 12th. :fire:

you want me to come with you and scout out the trails friday? that would be the day i could go wheeling.

Great news: I am fairly definite that I will be able to come! My dad OK'd it! :bounce:

My plan was to get there around 1 or 2 in the afternoon Saturday and stay til about noon on Sunday. Does this sound like a feasible plan?

Also, one more time, can we get a count of who's going and when they're going to be there?

And, lastly, Saturday night: camping or hotel?

Thanks guys, I'm really excited now, I can't wait!

Blue Steel, that would be great. I plan on getting there around 2 or 3. Send me an e-mail or PM me with your number and we'll work something out. Will you be staying there friday night?

count me out.. wife informed me of the wedding we have to go to on sat. i never do remember those things that i don't want to participate in. maybe it gets rained out. its supposed to be an outside one. oh well.... guess i'm bound to never make one of these darn organized runs. take some pics
