The pulleys pictured will not fit the SOHC motor.

The pulley on the SOHC ( and OHV ) is integrated with the harmonic balancer into a single unit.

i would think it should be ok since its made for th 4.0 engines also another rookie question... the stock one is huge comapered to the aftermarket one being smaller does it make the engine turn faster with it being smaller getting more turns? im just trying to understand what a new one does to gain +16hp

You will not get 16 HP, you my get half that

The pulley is smaller ( diameter ) than the stock one, but it is a little heavier.

The motor should rev a bit faster with the UDP.

It makes more power available to the rear wheels by reducing parasitic drag. It does not make more power.

Am Also looking foreward to your writup, you will find the UD to be a worthy addition.
Not noticible in the low end but above 3k RPM it really kicks in

aldive, did what you buy include everything in the full combo kit listed above?

im interested to here how it works out cuz my dad wanted one and then the master mechanic for dodge that runs a dodge form told everyone to stay away from them cuz they cause electrical problems

With the ASP UD pully you will see your ALT output drop by a couple tenths of a volt. No biggie I think

If you have a marginal electrical system, yes, going underdrive CAN cause problems. These can be corrected with a higher output alternator and a deep cycle battery.

I have the UDP/harmonic damper only right now since the water pump pulley and idler pulley is on backorder ( due in a couple more weeks ). I also have the underdrive alternator pulley.

Hope to install this Wednesday.

darn....if I wasn't in the process of a 5.0L/T-56 swap I'd be ALL OVER THESE!...I still may buy them, and use them until the X is totally ready for the swap....then swap the UDP to my OTHER X...
