V8 Air Intake

awesome...made my day to see someone actually post real dyno data. a little sad to see our rear wheel HP though....almost 50% loss from engine....damn.

I am new to (Explorers 07 EB V8), but I have a lot experience with building race cars. We currently race a BMW M3 with BMW Club Racing and SCCA Club Racing.

The RWHP loss is not diff by product. I think it is in how these products are advertised. I believe the HP gains are not max HP increases at peak power, but rather the largest gain in any point in the power range. So using made up numbers, if a car make 290 max HP stock and you add a chip or intake, the biggest gain may be be at the mid point in the power range say going from 225 HP to 235 HP. The peak power may actually only increase from 290 to 295. So the product is advertised as giving you 10 HP increase (which is true), but peak power only increases 5 HP.

nicely said. and you're right, the 290 would be peak...so my first impressions of the 50% loss are be incorrect....I just glanced at the chart and saw big numbers and thought they were peak as with other dyno charts. a second look shows the chart going to almost 225HP at 6K. That's a little more respectable.
