I'm a new member and have done a flowmaster search and realize this topic has been discussed extensively. But please bear with me as I need some advise.

I have a '99 5.0 AWD with a Flowmaster 50 series (I think it is a delta flow - not an SUV model). I have a 2.25" dual in with 2.25" dual out and 3" x 18" SS magnaflow tips. I personally find this to be just a bit too loud (have trouble talking to people in the back seat, actually they can't really hear anything). I also tow a boat during the summer, and the exhaust note seems to bounce off the boat and is quite a bit louder compared to when not towing (also due to the extra load I'm sure).

I'm thinking of switching to a 70 series FM, does anyone with a V8 have this set up? Will it fit?

I called the custom exhaust shop that did the work and they suggested going to a magnaflow dual in dual out. But from everything that I have read on this site, it seems to me that it would be louder. I have also read about the Gibson, but I'm not sure I want to buy a $150 muffler without a guarantee.

All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

70 series

I have a 97 V8 and put a flowmaster 70 series on it. The 70 series is made for large trucks and mobile homes so its made to silence but it still has a great roar. It idles with a good deep tone and when you open up the throttle it has a good performance sound. In short, its sounds quality without being a bother to you or passengers.
