Hi all, I have an 07 EB with 145,000 mi. I think it's time to replace the spark plugs but am a bit leery on doing it after hearing that they are prone to snapping of in the heads during removal. Any advice to lessen the chance would be appreciated. Thanks.

PB would be good for the threads but the problem lies further down with carbon build up. One of the tricks I heard was to crack the plugs loose 1/8th turn and spray a carb cleaner down the sparkplug hole and let it seep through the threads and work on the carbon deposits. When I did mine at 60,000 I took the advice of Bojans, another meber here and had the removal tool on hand. Fortunately, I was able to remove all eight no problem and I returned the $100.00 tool unused. Search the topic in the 2006 forum and you will find a lot of information about this.

I have also heard a HEAVY dose of a product like Seafoam (think 2-3 cans to one tank of gas) can help to break up the carbon. Buy the extraction tool and have it handy, it is easy to use if you end up needing it.

When I did mine on the Mustang I cracked then about 1/8 of a turn and poured carb cleaner down there (not too much don't want to hydro lock the engine), went and watched a 2 hour movie came back out and removed all 8 with no issues. The carb cleaner worked its way down and softened the carbon. I did take them out really easily like 1/4 turn at a time then tightened 1/8th of a turn and so on until there was barely any resistance.

Thank you for your advise, I'm going to tackle this on Sat.
