V8 swap looks good a/c is confused

Recently purchased a 98 2wd ranger that has a 99 mountaineer 5.0 engine installed. The computer and transmission are from a 97. The problem is that the compressor runs when it should be off and is off when it should be on. This includes the "off" position (compressor is on). Cold air, fan, vac operated doors all work. My past experience is with pre 70s Classic cars and is little help here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The clutch coil relay is a single pole double thow. Might get away with a simple re-pin.

A/C control logic is very different beween the Ranger and Expo with most Expo 5.0 into Rangers, often the trickiest bit in the whole wiring.
