on the front side of the hood above the grille there is very bad bug damage from where the owner before me never washed the truck. It obviously burnt thru the paint and it just look horrible. Ive tryed the green color wax to try to cover it up but you can still see it pretty well. Is there any heavy duty green stuff to cover this up or do I have to end up getting it repainted?

There is this stuff called Tar n Bug Remover they sell it at Auto Zone you might try it, its worked wonders for me.

Bug guts are quite potent.

If a wet sand and buff ( from a detail shop or body shop ) doesn't do the trick, refinish is the only answer.

the guys are burnt in all the way to the metal. I have to keep wax on it a lot because I am afraid it will rust if I dont. How easily can I repaint something like this myself? I have some air paint gun my dad owns that runs off the air compressor

well it could be a project no doubt. You might never get it to match and you might even have to make a few tries at it but what will it cost? some elbow grease, paint and time.
Worst case is it will already be prepped for the paint shop if you dont feel you can do it. Google auto painting and read everything there is and give it a try!
