Here is my problem - My power windows work whenever they feel like it. How is this tied to the drive line, you ask?

Well, first, I noticed that occaisionally the 4WD and 4WD-Low dash light blink for no apparent reason. After a while I was able to tie the fact that the windows don't work to when these lights blink.

Then it gets even stranger. One day while waiting for my wife, I noticed a clunk coming from (I think) under the hood. Being deaf in one ear, I can't really say, except that I could feel it through the floor, as well. This waiting, being a recurring event in my life, allowed me to observe this behaviour a number of times. A couple times, I managed to get the window down, but not up - yes, the lights were blinking after I got it down, and so couldn't get it back up - then the clunk happened, and lo and behold the window rolled up - and the lights weren't blinking!

All this while the truck was standing still.

Sometimes, switching to 4WD Auto and back makes the window work (and yes, the lights stop blinking)

Any thoughts on where to look? I really want to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

The blinking 4WD lights is usually reporting an issue with the 4WD system. The number of times they flash before pausing is the code. It could be possible that an electrical/grounding problem could be causing the flashing lights and the window problem. As far as the clunk.... I have no clue.

Thanks for the info - any idea where I might find the info as to what the 'blinking' codes map to?

Again, Thanks
