I have front end vibration when turning right and left (90 degree turns). While turning at a good speed i don't feel a thing, however from a dead stop and then turning i feel a vibration in the front end.

I have a 2000 explorer V8 302ci 5.0 with AWD/4WD.
The parts i have since replaced since other issues came to light:
Shocks, Upper and lower ball joints (control arms as well), CV shaft, rotor, brake pads, calipers (yes i bled the system and went ahead and did a whole system flush with fresh fluid)
both the rear drive shaft and the prop shaft (the front drive shaft that connects to the front differential to the transfer case), the tie rod ends, the sway arm assembly is 100% new and new tires all the way around. Even have flushed all the fluids from everything you can think of. Tune up, all new pulleys, rebuilt ac comp. What if anything did i miss? At this rate the whole car will be guranteed for life.

All in all the truck in pristene condition with the exception of this new vibration when turning. I am getting an alignment tommorow as well.

The truch has 150K miles and no wrecks or major issues. I do expect some issues with mileage and age respectfully.

I am just wondering if there is anything i might have missed along the way?
Had the hubs, spindles all checked they are fine (Ford Dealership). I am just getting annoyed throwing money at it and if it's not this it's that.
Spent around 4-5K in parts and things. I have enough experience/skill to do everything.

Had the spindles,

Idea's???

Thanks for your help.

Update:

Today my fiance` told me that the truck is no longer making a vibration when turning left, just when you are turning right. She did mention that the truck also pulls to the left.

This might be in part to the fact that the ball joint that was on the passenger side was the 2 piece (control arm + bracket and ball joint assembly)

I was told by several ford service tech's and several parts shops that the ball joint that was already on there was after market and probably someones idea of how to replace the ball joint cheaper. I ended up replacing it with the original OEM one.

Another thing she said is that when you start getting up to speed you can here a harmonic "Whoomp whoomp" noise. I guess after alignment i will have to see if it fixes the problem. If not i am thinking the hub's are bad. Wanted to avoid that since they are like $120 each side.

Guy, the passenger side upper control arm on this trucks is in fact a two-piece design. It's not aftermarket.

I replaced the hubs and rebuilt the front end this year on my 98 with 135k on it. I think it's just about the time this parts start to fail.

I did the front end myself, after the shop charged me $600 for the hubs.

Well i talked with a ford mechanics and even went into 3 local parts suppliers (at the ford shops). The asked for the VIN and the Manufacture date and type of drive train. They then told me if it was anything other than the single one piece control arm/w balljoint it was the incorrect one. These are standard on the 4.0 but not for the 5.0. The only benefit is for alignment purposes but is not rigid enough for the AWD and Gross weight of my EXP.
I have a 2000 EXP XLT 5.0. They said that it was probably someone trying to save some cash. If they went to the scrap yard they would only be charged $10-$25 for the control arm. From there they could go into any local parts store and buy the bracket with the ball joint for only like $40.

2 piece costs = $50-$65
1 piece costs = $105

While i can appreciate someone trying to save money (as i am trying to do myself) however that is no reason to put the wrong parts on the vehicle itself.

The passenger side upper control arm that was installed on your Explorer from the factory was a two piece design. The original ball joints are not serviceable, the entire control arms must be replaced.

Tell you what, go to the nearest Ford dealership and purchase a set of upper ball joints for your truck. See what you get.
