VIN Number explainations for NON explorers

anyone know where i can get VIN explaintions for non explorers, specifically a classic car. If any of you know a website that has info like this please let me know .

My bad matt, i should have been more clear. What i'm looking for is like the explaniations of each letter....like
F means Ford, X means explorer, where it was made at and so on.

My dad is lookin to buy a classic car and he wants to see if it is really the car its supposed to be.

ahh, gotcha... that I dont know... possibly if you go to some sites specifically for those, or like for mine it is explained in the haynes manual...
 






He should be able to find a Classic car club for the type of car he is looking at. Just type in the car name in a search engine and I'm sure you'll find some club or web site.
 






Here ya go, just so happend to have a lecture on this the other day in class:

First number: country of origin:
1= USA
2= Canada
3= Mexico
4= USA
6= Austrailia
9= Brazil
J= Japan
K= Korea
L= Taiwan
S= England
V= France
W= Germany
Y= Sweden
Z= Italy

The model of the vehicle is usually the fourth or fifth character. The eighth character is usually the engine code. The tenth character is the year on all vehicles:
A=80
B=81
C=82
D=83
E=84
etc.
Y=2000
1=2001
2=2002
3=2003
etc.
