I saw these the other day in wal-mart...they now carry several types..with hooks yeah but I found one with real loop ends...its suppossedly rated at 20,000lbs break strength and runs $24.95 for a 20ft strap..its also double stitched and suppossedly more resistant to cuts and tears than regular strap material.

I was looking at getting the Duff Tuff strap, and tho its longer at 30ft, its 18,000lbs break strength and $40.

I actually might get both..not like having two different straps of different lengths could be bad or anything...

Is the wallyworld one a deal or has anyone had any bad experiences?

My friend pulled out my other friends dad who got stuck backing into a ditch off his driveway on purpose. Anyways, my other friend who is a member of this site (95XLT) pulled out that jeep cherokee pretty easily. It was very strong and it was bought from wallyworld for only $20 bucks. Good deal, i guess they seem pretty reliable!

We broke one.

We were pulling my 88 ranger out of some pretty deep crap and couldnt get it out. so he put about 8 feet of slack in it :o and just stomped on the gas of his 94 s10, I swear the back of his truck jumped about 5 feet off the ground, and then did about 4 360's before coming to a stop. we snapped it right in the middle. (we also did about $3,000 worth of damage to his 4x4 dirve system.)

my ranger was fine, but we did break the one you are talking of. of course the staps were NEVER ment to be treated that way, and I WOULD NEVER DO THAT, EVER, EVER, EVER. i tried to talk my friend out of doing it, but i didnt care, my ranger was ment to be beat on.

we got off very lucky, if the strap had not have broken you can torque the frame so hard it will shatter your window.

if it means anything we went back to to wally world and bought another one to finish the job.
