Wanna mount 265/65/18 - Minimum lift required?

I decided to keep my Enkei 18"x8.5" RT-6s and I want to mount BF Goodrich A/T 265/65/18s on them. I am not interested in off-roading, just wanted the more agressive look and stance. What is the minimum lift requirement I need? Here are the tire dims:

Width: 10.43"
Diameter: 31.56"
Rim Offset: 0+/-

I was thinking maybe a 2". Can that be achieved with AAL and TT only? Thanks for the support!

ummm no lift required, i ran 275/45/20 and lowered it had no problems...
plus with that offset the wheels will stick out more...

I'm running 255's with no lift or drop and I have plenty of room to get 265's if I wanted to. And yes, you can get roughly 2" of lift from TT and shackles but it will more realistically be about 1.5" or so I believe.

Oh wow. I hope you're right! I still want to look into Add-A-Leafs since my X is starting to get a little tail droop and I don't want to compensate by having to TT down into a negative camber. Thanks!

275/45/20 is 2" smaller in diameter as a 265/65/18.

The 265/65 is about a 32x10.5 tire.

I ran 265/75 16s with AAL's and TT they were ~31.7

A Superlift would be ideal though.

I wouldn't spend $2,000 on a Superlift if I was only going to drive the truck on the street. I would opt for either a TT/Shackle combo or 2-3" body lift.

Tire size is measured in tread width / side wall height as a percentage of tread width and finally rim size. So, 265/75 R16 means 265mm wide, ~198mm side wall height and 16" wheel.

I am not really following where you got the above numbers from.

198 x 2= 394 x .0393700787 = 15.51 (rounded)

15.51 + 16 = 31.51

Diameter = 29.7"
Width = 10.8"

265/65/18:
Diameter = 31.6"
Width = 10.4"

31.6 - 29.7 = 1.9 or 2" (rounded)

So yes, yes I do say so...

I've been out of high school too long to look at all that math. But im glad I looked at it. When its time to buy tires im still debating on whether or not to run my 16" stock EB wheels with 265/75/16.. Did they give you any trouble w/out the lift MountaineerGreen? My other choice was gonna be a set of 17s off of a Mustang, what is the max tire size i could go without having to put on a lift? I didnt see it on the little chart reference thing there.

Here's the combo on an earlier model Tacoma without the white letter wall (which I would have).

It's a pretty tall combo. Anybody know of a quality AAL that wont break my bank? Thanks!

I would go for the TT up front and either shackles or AALs in back.

I've heard that AALs make the ride stiffer, but I also know some people that have them and flex ok when off-roading. The TT will make the front stiffer so maybe if will balance it out. They're only like $30 from Summit, and shackles are around $60, unless you get the AutoZone cheapies.

Stockies with 265/75's worked OK on mine, I had to trim my front bumper and running boards a little and they rubbed when at full stuff and turning.

Mustang wheels won't work without spacers. FYI, a 265/70 R17 is about the same diameter as a 265/75 R16.

Look at www.tirerack.com and go to specs, they list overall diameter in a chart.

I have run 265/75/16 and 275/55/20 on my 2000 with a 2" lift and no trimming.
