2004 eddie b
I have a 2004 explore eddie b and ac does not work or out, the fan blows and the heat works then I turn dial to cold on the rear control and just blows air at room temp. Is there a place to recharge rear section only? If so where is it the front is perfect and temp coming out is 45 and rear is 80 then when heat is on 120 or more so we are really confused if front works why does the rear not

i updated your other post too, it all one system same charge for both.
Do the pipes get cold? You should be able to see them under the left rear quarter panel running up into the HVAC unit in the rear.

I will check today and let you know, so there is a line from under hood all the way to rear under truck that should be cold when ac is on

There is a line under driver side rear above tailpipe that is cold yes

whay you are saying sez your rear expansion valve is not working..so replacement is necessary,,not a big job and not to expensive for parts..discharge the freon and remove the rear panels to get access to the valve and replace it..clean the evap while you are there and maybe replace the front accumulator drier and evac and recharge the system and you should be good to go...i have been an ac tech for 20 plus years now and have repaired about any type vehicle out there so if you need anything just let me know..be glad to help out.........tony..ps you cannot charge up one system without charging the other ..the charging pprts up front are used to remove and install freon into both system at the same time....so as long as the front system is working good and cold the system is full.....problem would be flow to the rear evap due to a dirty or faulty exp valve.....

So the expansion valve is behind the panel looking back from front is behind right panel? I looked up what that is and shows a copper looking piece with threads on both ends and a little ball like thing, is this the rear expansion valve

OK I just changed the rear expansion valve recharged system and still no cold air in back, just hot so what else is there and I did feel the rear hoses the big one and little one and they are warm as well, I will drive around then check hoses again but I am lost

what about the rear belnd door actautor or blend door itself. you might be turning the dial to cold but the actuator might be staying on hot

Hi but there is no freon coming down the pipe to the rear, the pipes are all warm and took off rear one at the valve no pressure at all so what in the heck sould this be and maybe happening in others
