I have Warn manual hubs on my 93 XLT. One of the big o-rings that goes between the hub and the rotor is messed up and needs to be replaced. Anyone know where I can get one?

Also, when ever I lock out that hub I get a high pitched wine when my EX is moving. it doesn't matter if I have the transfer case engaged or not. As soo as I unlock the hub it goes away. I'm afraid that I got something in there thats grinding away some metal, but I think it's odd that I only get noise when the hub is locked. Any Ideas?

thanks,
MJ

Lube the hub up, then instead of a new o-ring, use some form of gasket maker. Such as Ultrablack or RTV

When you pop it off to replace the 'O' ring look in there, My guess is you will see a metal mess if you have a problem.

I have manuals on my '91 but I can't remember what it specifically looks like. I've taken apart my Old Jeep Cutlass Hubs, they were very easy and intuative to pull apart clean , grease and put together.

I'd order a couple o-rings directly from Ford, that way you have a spare for next time. Either that or go to your local 4x4 shop and see if they have a pile of broken auto hubs and take a few spares (thats what I did).

One of the orings in my hub has been messed up for years. Yes it allows a little more water and dirt to get in but thats no biggie I just check and clean the hub more often. Just pull off your hub, clean it and grease it. Should take care of your noise.
