I just had a question for someone with knowledge of the older style Warn winches. i have the old style the 8274 model wich has the gear oil in it and i just had the electric motor re-done. he told me that i need to add oil to it but hell if i know how? i just tried to check out the Warn web site but there site is all screwed up. i tried to call them but they are closed . i just thought i would post it on here and see if anyone knew an answer. i think it takes 30 weight oil not like 10w 30 but 30 gear oil. ive looked for a fill or drain deal but its not on there and im guessing you have to take it apart some.
thanks.
Howard

Winch oil

I talked to Warn they said that you have to pull off the top portion of the winch ( 3 bolts ) and you would have to pump out the old oil or get it out some how and then fill it back with 6 oz's of 30W non-detergent gear oil.
he didnt say anything about a fill plug? humm i have the old model as well. mine is the 33 serial# model. what do you have Brian?
