2016 Explorer XLT with interesting symptom: triggering windshield wash causes REAR to spray while front wiper arms move. Triggering rear window wash causes FRONT to spray while rear wiper arm moves. From other discussions I know this means the fluid pump is running backward from what it should (it has one reservoir, one pump, two fluid output hoses depending on which direction the pump runs).
My question then is, I believe I can fix this symptom by swapping the tiny hoses at the pump inside the right front bumper. But I’m wondering what could cause the pump to apparently have changed polarity, and is there sone further electrical problem to diagnose? Reversed polarity or some such? Or maybe it’s possessed, I admit to cursing it occasionally.
Thanks!
