Wax type and how many times?

Okay it's getting warmer here in the lovley dc area, Hope it's getting that way every where. Needing to do the first wax job on the sport. I've been using Meguiars in the past on other trucks that i've had. I really wanna have a good shine on this for a couple of months, I wash it almost every weekend. So I'm thinking I need to do this soon! Is there anything I should try, possibly Clay? I sent away for a Mequiars catalog on their products, but I also heard Mothers is a pretty good brand. Someone point me in the right direction. How often should you really wax a car? 2x a year? was my understanding but the folks at ford were kinda nervous about telling me that wasnt enough?? Is this wrong thinking on my part? Thanks for any information!

Look in the forum down below this one about body detailing. Or run search for perfectshine. You will find it. I ordered the full kit for 100 bucks. can't wait to try it out.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of different opinions on waxes but I've found that "Mothers California Gold"pure carnauba is just fantastic.It's yellow carnauba and you don't get that white powder residue all over your vehicle.If your vehicle has gone awhile without a good wax you might want to try the "California Gold" cleaner wax.I know you'll be happy with either one.

i use this stuff called "garots"(sp?) is' really expensive.better then Zaino and last's about 8 month's

I use finish 2001, made by turtle wax. I wax my truck 2-4 times a month during the summer depending on how board I get. Trucks finish still looks brand new.

I use Maguires and it work pretty damn good. I wax in the spring and fall.

I'm a firm believer in polymer polishes. Zaino and Klasse are excellent for this. And a new player is Maguair's NXT. I had an opportunity to try this last weekend and the results were amazing!! Click on this link for the results:

I have been using Meguars Gold Class for years and years. That stuff is VERY impressive espicially on black.
I used it four or five times a year.

HOWEVER,,,,,,,, I recently have steped up to Zaino.
I have yet to apply it.
I am quite sure, I will be impressed.
