Just wondering if someone can explain to me what exactly happened.
I disconnected the battery (neg terminal) then removed my MAS for cleaning. After MAS was re-installed/re-connected and rest of the 10 mins expired, the battery was re-connected then I went to start it. All I got was a click then nothing. Thought I had blown a fuse so I checked all pertinent ones but all wre good. Battery had good voltage, so did the starter solenoid. After a couple minutes a relay began clicking in the cargo area by the rear washer bottle and the LED's I have connected to power would flash in sequence with the relay click. There were no interior lights, no radio, no "click" when ignition turned and once in a while I would get an extremely faint/sick single door chime (driver's door was open the whole time). Double checked connections at battery, vigorously wiggled the battery cables but no difference. Finally on a whim I disconnected the battery again (relay was driving me nuts), let it sit for a few minutes then reconnected and it started fine. While I let it idle to re-learn the new air/fuel ratio, the charge light illuminated, check and was getting 14.5V across the battery. After a while it went away, then volt meter guage in truck would flip between halfway and 12V. Took it for a spin, everything works fine, voltmeter settled down.
I'm guessing the charge light and funky guage were a product of the battery reconnection and the relay clicking problem was a glitch from the EEC and just needed to be reset again.
If you're still reading this, can you explain to me what was going on?
