Just wondering if anyone knows what this could be. Especially when cold, my X makes a metal rattling noise when in drive, only when stopped. If i slide it up into neutral, it goes away. Any ideas??

is it real tiney sounding?

Sure is....What is it! What is it!:bounce:

probably your heat shield around the cat, if it is - you have 2 choices:
1) band it
2) remove it

Thanks a lot...I'll look into that.

I had the same thing happen. It was vibrating when it was idling in drive, soon as I hit the gass it was gone. I just took mine off. I've had no problems.

Is it almost like a ringing noise? Maybe that's what the noise I'm hearing on mine is...

UPDATE.....believe it or not....but it was the belt tensioner. I replaced it, along with my belt, this weekend...and the sound is gone.

how did you figure out it was the belt tensioner?

Just popped the hood, and had someone put it in gear with the brake on, while running. I wasn't positive, but the sound seemed to come from that area. So...I bought a new one, I had to replace my belt anyways, and with the belt off, I spun the pulley. Low and behold, a slight ringing from the bearings.

Its so much nicer pulling though a drive through and having to hear jingle bells from your X.
