Just thought I'd share something I found out last weekend..
For a while I had been hearing a noise in the front end of my explorer when I'd hit a bump or something (sometimes feel it in the floor).. At first I wasn't sure what was up.. Then I looked around a couple of times, and it looked like there was bare metal showing on a couple of spots near the bottom on both springs. Ok, so maybe the sway bar was rubbing it.
So last week I decide to take it off, and
, there were a couple of chunks missing from the area that was rubbing! I mean actual area missing, not just slightly rubbed down. If I had let it go on for some time longer, who knows what could have happened..
Anyway, I looked at how my frame mounts (5.5" superlift) for the bar were. They were angled towards the front axle.. So I flipped them over and switched sides (just for the looks).. And now all is well! The bar is now a comfortable inch to 2 inches away.
Ok, I'm done..
